Just give the kitty love and don't shelter it and when you move just do things to get the kitty used to the new place like taking them there before hand so they can get used to the new home. Moving is no excuse to either give up a pet, or not get a pet. Cats (and dogs) do fine with moves. It sounds as though your boyfriend doesn't want a cat, and is using that as an excuse. He is five now and a couple of months ago i left to university. I live in Belfast and now go to queens UNI. Only 3 miles down the road but I got a home straight away for myself. I was alowed to bring Daffy with me. I think you should do the same. I won't afect move home! We only had our cats for a year before we moved and they had no problems adapting. I had an older cat years ago and when I moved with him he took about a week to come out from behind the couch but he adjusted fine after a few weeks.
