I am moving to a home that isn’t mine to change around without wifi or a router. I believe there are things you can pay for to connect to the USB port&keep your laptop connected whenever it needs to be. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do that or what it’s called. I’ll pay for whatever I need to, I just need a connection!
That sounds like a cell phone wireless situation — assuming the new place isn’t also in a remote mountainous area with poor cell phone reception. I don’t know what those packages go for, though.

2010 Aug 22 2Contact your cell phone company. They can provide you with a USB access dongle, and probably have some kind of data package they can add to your current account. These aren’t cheap, though.
