What things should I look for in selecting a removalist?
We have to move house in about three weeks’ time and we still need to choose a company to help us move.

Well I would choose one of the larger companies that u find in the yellow pages. The trick is to ask for there insurance info making sure that they will cover your stuff in righting. Also ask them for client referrals. If they are a quality company then they will have no problem doing so.. Further i would expect a good company to send out a rep to give the est. allowing you to cover any special request with certain furniture and what not… You can also check the "Better Business Burro" to make sure that they are not only registered but don’t have any outstanding complaints and what not… I would NOT rely on them to do everything for u. If something is important to you, then make sure u r there to supervise!! Remember, these guys dont give a crap about your stuff! Good luck.

A mathematically able tree removalist measures
the angle of elevation of the two points on a
diseased section of a large eucalypt at a distance
of 40 m from the base of the tree. If the angles
are 20° and 24° respectively, how tall is the
diseased section of the tree?

Using trigonometry :) working out please ive been doing this for like an hour and my answers keep coming wrong.

The bottom of the diseased section is at 40 tan 20° = 14.56 m above the ground
The top of the diseased section is at 40 tan 24° = 17.81 m above the ground
So the diseased section is 17.81 – 14.56 = 3.25 m tall

I need to send a solid wood dining table + 6 chairs from Perth to Sydney. The cubic metres are too little for furniture removalist / container, but they are too bulky and heavy for couries / Australia Post. Anyone ever done this before? Really appreciate some help. Thanks before.

Phone the courier services and moving truck to get an estimate. You might get a better answer that way.

I am planning to move interstate from QLD to VIC and would like to use a reliable moving company. I’ve had bad experiences with some in the past, so am bit anxious and stressed just anticipating another move. I really want a company that is reliable, and treats your possessions carefully. They all claim they do this but I know from past experience thats not true. Please share your experiences and recommendations.

I have used La Rosa Del Monte Exp. 5 times already in my life with no problems what so ever, they move everywhere throughout the US and world, i have already used them twice internationally. They have been in business 45 years so they know exactly what they are doing and are very professional at it. You can actually get a quote for your move online for free within minutes, just go to www.larosadelmonte.com they make moving easy, the way it should be. Hope this was helpful good luck with moving. Also if you would like to call for information call 1-800-4larosa and ask for Genaro, tell him benny recommended you iv moved so much they pretty much know me by name lol so he’ll be able to really help you out, so dont stress i know how difficult it is to just pick up and move.

I moved into a new private rented house two months ago. Somehow I managed to get into a huge screaming swearing argument with my new neighbour because of where the removalist van was parked.

Now everyday I feel a tenseness about seeing my neighbour. When I leave home and come back. We don’t argue, but we aren’t friends either and never talk. I thought it would pass with time, but it hasn’t

Should I move?

Well first of all ask yourself if YOU beheved in a perfectly reasonable way, or could you have handled it better?

If you decide you were perfectly correct in your actions then stay where you are as you have done nothing wrong.

If, however you decide that, actually, you could have handled the situation better, then you need to stay where you are and swallow your pride. Next time you see your neighbour, walk over, smile and start a conversation.

Don’t dodge the issue. Be upfront about it. Suggest thet you both could have handled the situation better. Apologise for your part.

Depending on the neighbours reaction you could even try asking to meet for a coffee to try for a fresh start.

If your attempts at neighbourliness is rebuffed then you can walk out of your door each morning with your head held high, safe in the knowledge that you made the effort.

Whatever happens – stay where you are…running away is not the answer!

Good Luck!

Hi,
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane in a month’s time. A little stressed over the relocation matter as i dont feel convinced after browsing internet many hours to come across a reliable removalist company at a cheaper price. I have quite tight budget and I want to get a rough idea of how much a removalist will cost to move a standard 2 bedroom house furniture. I only have all those furnitures and white goods just nice for a couple. Can anyone who has done a recent move help me with this? how much did it cost you and any recommendations for a reliable and cheap removal company? It will be very valuable at this point of time. Many thanks in advance.

have you checked out Remove All Tel. (08)820 8033

Hi,

Me and my husband are planning on moving to Australia next year and I was wondering about the cost of moving our stuff over there. We’re living in the UK at the moment, and we wouldn’t be taking any furniture or big stuff. Mostly it’s just books/dvd’s/clothes/knicknacks kinda stuff. So my questions–
Can anyone reccomend any overseas removalist companies?
Any rough estimates on price?
How do you package your stuff? In cardboard boxes or what? Where can you get these from? Do removal companies supply them?

Thanks

Ash x

There are a number of removal companies that do international removals, Pickfords is one that comes to mind, and you’ll find them listed in the phone book – just look up ‘furniture removalists’ or ‘removals’.

These companies will sell you the properly sized cardboard packing boxes and you will have a choice of packing yourself, or getting the company do it for you at an additional cost. It’s probably better for them to pack as any breakages will then be covered by insurance.

If you haven’t got accommodation arranged at the time the goods arrive in Australia, the removal company can arrange to have everything stored until you have a place.

Costs will depend on the number of cartons etc that you want moved, where you’re moving from and to, and the time you want them delivered eg do the goods need to be flown out or can they go by sea. You really need to get a quote from three or four companies and then make a decision.

Get quotes now, but don’t lock in a company until you know your visas are OK and travel dates are firm.

my car battery went flat and now i need a radio code. Im driving from melbourne to brisbane in 2 days time and dont want to drive for 19hrs without music. My car manual is in a box on the back of a removalist truck :(

the dealer will have the code, they will need your VIN and you might have to go in to show proof of ownership.

And do not try to guess the number, you only have 3 or 4 tries then it will lock you out and your troubles really begin.

I have my cosmetology license also didnt know if that would help along the path?

To be a "removalist" you have to be a medical doctor.
