Considering moving to America for work and possibly education?

Hi, im Irish, and im currently working at the moment. I am considering moving to America for a while, maybe a year, to work, or possibly get a visa for studying over there, i would like to practise Veterinary Nursing.
I don’t exactly know where to start to research these options!
Does anybody have any tips or good websites on moving to America to study/work?

To get a work visa and a student visa are two different things.
To apply for a temporary worker’s visa to the US under the H1B category, you need to hold a specialty degree for a profession that is in demand in the US like healthcare (nursing/therapy jobs). The US is very strict, students are not allowed to work, unless for minimum-wage on-campus jobs. You need to pass the consular interview in your nearest US embassy in order to secure a student visa.

Would you recommend an inexpensive moving company from FL to NC that is also reliable?

My fiance and I are relocating to Charlotte NC from Tampa, FL and are paying for our own move. Moving out of state is so super expensive. We have gotten a few quotes, but not sure what we should do. We are comparing everything from Pods, UHaul trucks to movers that move and transport all of our stuff. We are trying to keep it inexpensive but still have good service. We have 1 bedroom condo.

Anyone have any recommendations of companies that they have used?

When moving from the UK to south australia do you have to start driving lessons all over again?

Hi, I’m moving to Adelaide from the UK at the end of august. I’m currently taking driving lessons in England and have passed my theory test but have not yet taken my practical test. Will i be able to take my test as soon as i get to Australia or will i have to start again from L plates? Thanks.

You will have to do your tests again because our road rules and regulations are different from the UK. and yes I would say you will go onto P plates as you have not actually had a drivers license yet

How to deal with moving to a different town?

Ok Im going into 8th grade this year and Im in middle school.My mom is planning on us moving to a different town.The problem is,is that all my friends and family live in Ottumwa(where I live right now,which is in Iowa).
I really dont want to move especially since Im leaving my friends and family behind.I dont really have a choice but to move so how can I deal with this??

Be brave this is America & you can see people are
moving from one country to another and they leave everything they ever know behind & they arrive in
America and they have to learn a new language
and meet new friends .can’t you do that ?

What moving company do you recommend for just moving heavy furniture from 1 room to another?

I have to move furniture one level up, within the same house. What moving company would do such a small job, and what would be a fair price (maximum 2 hours work)? In the metro Detroit area.

How would you handle moving your cats to a new home and from indoor to outdoor?

My landlord decided i can no longer have my cats inside. i’m moving them to my grandmothers and i was told that i can’t have my cats inside. One is not really interested in me, but the other is extremely affectionate and can’t stand to not be around me. I’m concerned about them running away. any advice on keeping them around until i can figure something out? i wont be able to see them everyday. is there a way to do this? please help i dont want to lose them.

I understand your fear…I would hate to have my cats outside. Have you talked to your landlord about giving an extension so you can find them a place to stay or get another apartment.

I’m not sure what you mean by "account". Do you want to know the position as a function of time? You can construct a differential equation that will account for the viscosity and the varying mass of the particle given some applied force (which may also vary in time).

Anyone know of a good moving company for a cross country move?

My husband & I are planning a move from New Hampshire to Arizona in the next few months & we need to find a moving company to move our household items & 1 vehicle. We got a quote from United States Van Lines, but after doing some research on the internet we quickly realized that most of their reviews were negative.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

The trick for you would be to explore the complaints that you read about with whatever company that you choose.
For example, if you read that the company has alot of complaints about being late, you can specify in your contract with them that if they do not arrive within X number of hours of the target time, then you will pay less….

I know you did not ask this but you also might want to consider selling some of your things….an 8 year old living room suite might cost more to move then you would pay just purchasing a new one…..it would be a great time to go thru your closets and get rid of things that you no longer wear or use. Most of the movers either charge by weight or volume and multiply that by the distance.
YOu can use those same calculations to see if some of the larger things that you have are cheaper to ship or just repurchase later.

Lastly, dont forget to save your reciepts….on your taxes (if you itemize) you can deduct certain moving expenses and you would do well to read up on what those might be BEFORE you move so that you can take full advantage of them ALL!

How will moving the umpire to the offensive backfield change NFL games?

I understand why the NFL moved umpires to the offensive backfield: They got too banged up hanging around the linebackers. But moving them gives them a different perspective of the line of scrimmage.

Do you think there will be a change in holding calls? If so, how?

BTW, I’m assuming that umpires will still focus on holding (offensive and defensive) and the rare chop block. (Everyone calls offsides, facemask, delay of game, etc.) Please correct me if I’m wrong on that.

There may be more holding calls only because the umpire is not going to have to worry about what is going on around him, especially on runs or short passes to the middle. He’s also not going to have to get to the line of scrimmage on pass plays.

The one thing I want to see is how they will get him out of the way when a QB scrambles or there is a reverse. You may see some runners try to use him for a pick the way receivers have used him for a while.

You are wrong on some of your assumptions: Only the Line Judge and Head Linesman call offsides. They or the Referee or Umpire may call a false start though. Delay of Game is the Back Judge as he’s watching the play clock and the snap. But everyone can call a face masking foul.
