Where could we stay in between moving house?

We need to be out of our house by a certain date but then we have 2 weeks before we can move into our new house. We’re a family of 5 so hotel rooms are too small.. Any ideas?

Hopefully family or friends can help you, it’s only for two weeks after all. Even if it means splitting the family up for the short time. Good luck

The best way to keep sky when moving house?

I am the sky account holder at my parents house and I am moving house soon. Does anyone know the best and cheapest way to get sky in both properties (eg cancelling my account, contacting sky telling them I’m moving ETC)?

One of you will need a new account, for one account cannot supply two residences.

The easiest way I reckon, is for you to hand over your existing account to your parents, and you get a new account at your new place.

why do i feel sad moving to a new house?

I am moving house to a new area in the next few weeks, and although I am excited, I also feel quite sad. Is this normal? I have been through a lot since I lived here, and have many memories, yet a lot of those are sad/horrible. Can anyone explain why I feel this way?

i have 2 male cats (both spayed) and I’m about to move houses, they have been living with me all my life and it would break my heart if they ran away. What is the best way to stop them from trying to run to my old house?

I move my cats around twice a year between my summer home and my winter home. When we first started doing it, we were nervous about how they react to the change. We kept them inside for as long as we could, so they could adjust to their new "home". When they finally ventured outside, they knew where their home was.

I’m moving house – is it better to cancel my phone & broadband or have it transferred?

I’m moving into new house soon. Would it be better to cancel my phone and broadband completely and take out a new contract once I move into my new place or should I request a transfer to the new address? Which is the least hassle?

you should have everything transferred over, less hassle and no new fees. Now if you where dissatisfied with their service then cancel and start over.

Is the fact ‘m moving house in a couple of years a reason to not get a cat?

I’m finally settled in a house with my boyfriend and we’d both love to get a cat but he is concerned that it wouldn’t be the right thing to do because we intend to move house in a couple of years and it wouldn’t be the right thing to do for the cat.
I think that isn’t something which should stop us from getting a cat.

Does anyone with cat knowledge know if this is something which should stop us from getting a cat?

I don’t see the problem except it sounds like your boyfriend doesn’t really want a cat. We only had our cats for a year before we moved and they had no problems adapting. I had an older cat years ago and when I moved with him he took about a week to come out from behind the couch but he adjusted fine after a few weeks. Of course all my cats are indoor cats and you must be much more careful if you do let them out accidentally.

Moving house, should we take Sky account or start afresh?

We’re moving house in two weeks’ time to a place less than a mile away. We’re in the Republic of Ireland. We’re also interested in upgrading to Sky+ at some point. Should we transfer the account over (there is already a dish there from a previous Sky account), or should we cancel the account and open up a new one (in my wife’s name, perhaps)? I’m not entirely sure what the best strategy is (financially!), so all advice is welcome! Many thanks.

Whatever you do, make sure they know that the money for the sky account at your previous house is no longer being taken out of your account. We moved house a few years ago, transferred the account – didn’t think at all that it was a different first name we gave in the previous house, same surname – and they kept taking money out for both properties.

Moving house – a really stressful experience?

I’ve heard that house-moving is one of the most stressful experiences you can go through. Is this so in general ? Why ?
Clarification : I’m not moving house as in moving a mobile home. I’m selling one house and buying another.

Theoretically, it you are calm, resourceful and organised, you
can move house successful. But I haven’t met anybody (as
of yet) who is that person…..

Where can i get cheap cardboard boxes suitable for moving house??????

We are moving house and need lots of boxes. We have looked around and been shocked at the price of them (around £2 each) we will need about 100. We dont mind if they have been used aslong as they are usable and reasonably priced.
Any ideas???

go to the supermarket ask them if they have any boxes you can have they usually give them away for free what do you mean charging you never herd of such a thing.go to supermarkets usualy they will tell you the days they throught hem out and tell you come by you can have them.

How to help the dog to adjust after moving house?

We are moving to a new house in few mths. By that time, my Newfie pup will be 13 mths. The new house is in the same neighbourhood, only few houses down the street. He is completely house trained and he comes to work with me. He is not a nervous dog but by nature he takes a bit more time than his littermate brothers to approach new environment.

Any tips to help his transition? I am planning to take him to the new house to smell around often in the next few mths.

in my opinion,just take the old house of the dog and guide with it on everyday in new place
