Is there government money for college students moving from home for the first time? Is there something the college student could apply for? Is there a way for this person to get extra money towards living expenses? Is there another way for this person to earn money elsewhere while going to school and work full-time?

Not that I’ve ever heard of. It might be covered by some kind of government grant that’s part of your financial aid package.

I rented my home for 2 1/2yrs until it went into foreclosure. A bank bought it at an auction and now wants to put it on the market. I really really want to buy it from them, but they want to evict me 1st and then put it on the market. A real estate suggested an as-is sale. Is this possible, for me to purchase my home without moving out and then moving back in, especially if im paying cash for the house?

Anything is possible. You won’t know until you ask.

Call the bank and ask to speak with someone in Loss Mitigation. It’s their job to minimize the bank’s losses in these situations and having a ready and willing buyer in the home and ready to close is a Loss Mitigation Manager’s wet dream. Unless your offer is totally unrealistic they should agree to sell it to you without moving you out.

We want to move a mobile home from GA to land in TN and we then want to build onto it but I cant find any info about it. Does anyone know?

Use your yellow pages to call a manufactured home mover. They will have the answer. And, yes, moving will cost you an awful lot of money- Tear down, transport, reset.

Try looking at mhvillage.com. Put in the zip code you want to move to, and you will see, from your computer, the prices of homes for sale there.

Hello. My boyfriend and I are going to remodel our trailer home … by replacing some boards on floors and replacing some carpets and do some remodel .. mostly just on floors. The mobile home can still be moved? we are considering doing the walls but decide not to till we move the trailer out of the park onto our land.

You would be best to wait for any remodel work till after you get the mobile home moved. Through the move, the trailer will be stressed in many locations. That may damage the loosen the flooring or walls or whatever.

I am moving back to OZ after 3 years in the UK. I wanted to know who are the best moving companies to go with and any other tips for closing everything up to make make the move easier?

Pickfords for shipping they should then arrange a local business to pick up from customs to your home.

I have been living abroad for five years and will soon be coming back home. I feel so apprehensive about it and don’t know how I will cope with being home again. How can I make it easier?
yeah I am happy where I am, which is Europe, but I have to go back to my country New Zealand to finish my university degree which will take one year and a half, so I am kind of forced to go home.

relax and tell yourself you can live anywhere in the world if you so choose…if you dont like it…move again ….life is short live it !

i am planning on moving from my home town this will be my first time moving. so which is more important getting a job in the area you plan to move to before getting an apartment or getting a place to live before getting a job?

With the internet, there is little reason to go unprepared. You can find both, if not, at least narrow it down before you get there.

It also depends on your skills and the kind of job you are qualified for. Fast food and Restaurants are easy access jobs… Flying Instructor or Marine Mechanic is more location specific.

Also, what can you afford? You should learn where your "affordable housing" is, or whatever your niche may be. Right or wrong, there is "Class" sectored housing.

Either way, the shortest direct route between the two is more important than to any other destination (like shopping or recreation). Work pays the rent, and being presentable keeps the job… no excuses for being late or missing work accepted.

Do yourself a favor. Do not get any pets for the first couple of years. It is difficult to find housing with pets and you will most likely move at least once or twice in that time.

I researched my "new" town for a year before I ever moved. Study the maps! Learn the main streets and layout! When I got "There", I didn’t waste time and energy getting lost and it felt more like "home" because I was already familiar. You can locate anything you will need… gas stations, grocery stores, parks, etc. You can also avoid places… nightclubs, High Schools, fire stations, train tracks, etc.

Most daily papers are online now, start reading it to get a feel for the "local culture". Plot the "cheap rent" places on a map, they are usually not the "best" neighborhoods. Also read the Police Blotter if they offer one.

Obviously the classifieds will give you job info, but check the archives to see what businesses are always hiring people. This may be good as a first job, but realize they may have a high turnover for being a bad place to work. Same goes for apartments.

Also use the online Chamber of Commerce as a resource. There are also some local job boards to peruse. Finally, the Census Bureau can give you great insights also.

I just moved into my sister’s house yesterday. I have my own room, and my 5 year old cat. She has never been around other cats, and my sister has 3 cats and a dog. Last night one of her cats got into my room by accident while I was moving in, and my cat freaked out. She started giving off some kind of meow that sounded like a siren and hissing. When I left for work, she was still under the desk. What should I do to integrate her into the rest of the home and the pets? I can’t keep her in my room forever. Please help I can’t move anywhere else.

See this article. It is best to introduce them to each other slowly. 3 new cats and a new dog can be very stressful for your kitty. The best thing to do is keep your door closed and let them smell each other from under the door. Then give your kitty a blanket or toy that belongs to the other kitties/dog and give the kitties/dog a toy or blanket that belongs to your cat. They need to be familiar with each other’s scent. Do this for a while and then maybe introduce them one at a time. Soon they will be able to tolerate each other without a threat and hopefully become friends. Good luck!
