My family is already planning on moving out to California, regardless of where I go to college. I want to go to Berkeley, but I understand that only like 9% of first-year students are from out of state. Will I be counted as a resident of California, if the rest of my family has a residence there when I apply?
To be considered as CA resident, you must physically reside in CA for a 12-month period. That means for you to qualify as in-state applicant, your family would need to be living in CA during the summer before your senior year in HS.
It is Winter and I am in a park down to two trailers. We we were gonna tough it out till Spring but now the people in the rented trailer are moving out so now it is just us and there is a very good possibility the park will be shut down now. I own my mobile home but I am renting the land. I’m pretty sure due to winter conditions this can’t be moved. What can I do?
I don’t know what type of weather you are dealing with, but you would be surprised at what type of conditions a mobile home can be moved in. The only time a mobile home can’t be moved is if the local county has road restrictions in effect for heavy loads, but this usually happens only in the spring when the ground is too soggy.
I would start with calling a few local mobile home movers and ask questions.
Also I don’t know about your state, but mine (Washington state) has a program that gives financial assistance to pay to move your mobile home if the park is scheduled to close.
As far as closing, most states have a process that park owners have to go through if they are going to close. Part of that process is giving you a reasonable amount of time to move once you are notified that the park is closing down. Here in Washington, I believe park residence have at least 6 months.
Hope that helps!
I have been thinking about moving to Hawaii for a few months now and would like to know some safe areas to move. I am thinking somewhere around Ewa, Waipahu, Pearl City, Waimalu, and Aiea. Does anyone know anything around here that would be affordable for a 1 bedroom with a safe neighborhood?
Don’t move out there without a plan for employment.
My sister rents a 500 sq ft 3 room/1 bath cottage on Maui (very plain and simple) for $1400 a month.
i currently subscribe to sky+hd and got a sky+ box on multi-room but i have already moved house, how much do sky charge to carry out a installation?
Give Sky a call for the current cost of installing your equipment.
I live in America and I plan on moving to Great Britain in a few years and I need to start planning now. I’m new to moving in general (let alone a new country) so I was wondering if anyone has a good list of necessities that will need to do before I move.
The first thing you need to establish is how you legally live & work in the country
The quickest & simplest method of getting into the UK is if you can acquire citizenship of an EU member state through a parent (some countries also allow citizenship by descent through a grandparent) – citizens of EU member states can move freely through the EU & settle where they wish, although the UK does place some restrictions on citizens from Eastern European countries.
If you can’t acquire citizenship of an EU member state then you’ll need to apply for a visa to live & work in the UK. The link below has information on visas. Unless you have a particularly rare or exceptional skill you will find it difficult at the moment to get a visa, the minimum educational requirement is a degree.

You should also go to the library & borrow a few travel books on the UK and/or come to the UK on holiday for a few weeks to get a feel of the place.
I’m moving out for the first time. I’m moving into an apartment with my boy friend. What are all the bills I need the pay? What are their estimated costs? What are some other things I need to know.
I need tips, please!
Thanks!
This was what I paid when I first moved out of the family home and into an apartment with my boyfriend:
Rent: 465
Gas: 150 (if you pay this per month even in the spring and summer you will be ahead once winter rolls in and your bills are over 300 bucks)
Electric: 50
Water/Sewer/Trash: 35
Phone/Cable/Internet: 150 (this is actually what I pay now, I have unlimited long distance, internet, and basic cable with hbo/cinemax/showtime)
Then you have to add in your car payment, insurance, and estimated monthly gas mileage (you should have an idea already of what you put in gas per month) if it applies to you. Also when I am budgeting I total up what our necessities are for the month (such as, shampoo, trash bags, laundry soap, etc..) This is a really great question to ask, I was not prepared when I first moved out on my own. But I managed it just fine. I decided to cut our bills into quarters and pay weekly instead of a bunch of huge bills once a month. Good Luck!
