Is there government money for college students moving from home for the first time? Is there something the college student could apply for? Is there a way for this person to get extra money towards living expenses? Is there another way for this person to earn money elsewhere while going to school and work full-time?
Not that I’ve ever heard of. It might be covered by some kind of government grant that’s part of your financial aid package.

i don’t recommend it.
just starting to get our lives back together months after moving.
the house is looking like a house now but most of my possessions are still packed away (god knows where).
still be opening boxes months from now, still not able to find that one cd i want.
what one item would you miss most if it was to disappear ?
Hey there,
All the time that I have moved it has been inter city so it wasn’t very stressful but I can understand how it would be stressful. YOu have to adjust to a new place and everything.
The one item that I would miss most if it were to go away would be a yearbook that I have. I know it seems small and a very insignificant item to lose but for me it has big sentimental value.
Best Wishes,
Brian
My son is moving into an apartment and rent will be paid from an education trust. How does this work?
29 Dec 2009
My son is moving into an apartment that costs $575 + $25 water and sewer per month. The rent will be paid out of an education trust fund that has approximately $19k in it that covers schooling and rent. What information will the apartment complex need and will this be possible considering he will have no income? Should I be a co-applicant on the application? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I would talk to the trust,at a guess you will need the apartments complex details to have the money transferd monthly.and speak to the complex and explain who will be paying.
I dont think there will be a problem out of a trust account, they dont care who pays as long as someone does.
But you may have to go guarantor
I rented my home for 2 1/2yrs until it went into foreclosure. A bank bought it at an auction and now wants to put it on the market. I really really want to buy it from them, but they want to evict me 1st and then put it on the market. A real estate suggested an as-is sale. Is this possible, for me to purchase my home without moving out and then moving back in, especially if im paying cash for the house?
Anything is possible. You won’t know until you ask.
Call the bank and ask to speak with someone in Loss Mitigation. It’s their job to minimize the bank’s losses in these situations and having a ready and willing buyer in the home and ready to close is a Loss Mitigation Manager’s wet dream. Unless your offer is totally unrealistic they should agree to sell it to you without moving you out.
We are moving house for the first time and I haven’t got a clue where to start with the organising and planning involved.
Any hints or tips?!
A FRESH START – HOW LOVELY
1. get a move in date
2. organise a van hire or removal company (shop around/ring around for quotes)
3. start boxing up items that you wont use over the next couple of days / nights (get free boxes for super markets, etc)
4. label all the boxes with titles that let you know whats inside – it will help once your in the new place
5. ring gas, electric, water, phone, tv companies to ensure you are switched on when you move in – some companies allow the accounts to move with you
6. day or couple of days before – box everything else
7. on the day – send the big stuff – furniture first
8. arrange as they arrive – the main thing is somewhere to sit, eat and sleep – everything else can wait
9. unload important items – food and drinks, stuff for the kids, etc
10. sit and have a brew and argue over who gets what room
11. include the kids – get them to pick where they want bed extra – if they are old enough ltheirem unpack thier own stuff
12. unpack just what you need for the first day then open the rest when you have time
THE MAIN THING IS – BE ORGANISED AND INVOLVE EVERYONE – the more hands on deck the better, but remember helpers need a leader so enjoy it.
Recently moved a light in the bathroom. Which seems to be wired up correctly. Since then, the living room light seems to have been reversed (i.e., when the switch if the "off" position, the light is on). Also kitchen light no longer works, and when bedroom light is switched on, it comes on fine, but when bedroom switch is in "off" position, it just flickers. Any advice? Do you think it’s totally to do with moving the bathroom light?
Looks like you have a misplaced wire or wires.
This is easy to fix when you can see diagrams of how the lights are wired.
Try looking here-

We want to move a mobile home from GA to land in TN and we then want to build onto it but I cant find any info about it. Does anyone know?
Use your yellow pages to call a manufactured home mover. They will have the answer. And, yes, moving will cost you an awful lot of money- Tear down, transport, reset.
Try looking at mhvillage.com. Put in the zip code you want to move to, and you will see, from your computer, the prices of homes for sale there.
Moving from a house that comes with the job to buying a house, around the same city in the UK.
Just don’t want it to be too stressful lol
Thanks xx

I have a 16 month old daughter and just her and I are moving into our first home, a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. I am trying to compile a list of items that we need when we first move into the apartment. I can think of a few basic items, but I’m sure I’m missing some really useful items to get for in the home.
Not counting food –
—————————
dishwashing detergent
hand soap
scouring pad (for the dishes)
vacuum clean, broom or similar
those little locky things that keep your kid from getting into cabinets
ice trays
vegetable brush
shampoo
hairbrush
toothbrush
toothpaste
band-aids
diapers
lamps (standing and bedside)
sofa or futon
bed
tv table
coffee table or something similar
cable for the TV (coax, which you will need even without cable service!)
light bulbs (mostly 60 and 100W)
bookshelves, milk crates, or some kind of modular shelving
a screwdriver (both regular and phillips head, in a variety of sizes)
a hammer
picture hanger nails
kitchen utensils (knives, forks, spoons, etc.)
a frying pan
a ‘dutch oven’ or big pot for boiling stuff in
kitchen matches (if you have gas stove)
a flashlight
plunger
toilet brush
cleanser (like comet or that scrubbing bubble stuff)
shower curtain and rings
color bleach
laundry detergent
anti-staticsheets (like Cling Free or similar)
crib
batteries (for TV tuner, etc.)… mostly AAA and AA.
power strips for your power outlets
You might check in with your local chamber of commerce office — they might have ‘welcome packs’ for new ‘neighbors’.
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Moving mobile home after reconstruction?
18 Dec 2009
Hello. My boyfriend and I are going to remodel our trailer home … by replacing some boards on floors and replacing some carpets and do some remodel .. mostly just on floors. The mobile home can still be moved? we are considering doing the walls but decide not to till we move the trailer out of the park onto our land.
You would be best to wait for any remodel work till after you get the mobile home moved. Through the move, the trailer will be stressed in many locations. That may damage the loosen the flooring or walls or whatever.
