I need to move some of my girlfriends stuff that she can’t do without <:\

Its not a whole house full of gear but its not a small parcel either. I’m not sure as to whether to use a road transport company/Australia Post/or professional removalist.

City Rail may be cheaper

I’m a USA citizen but currently living and working in Hong Kong until mid-summer. I have a few loans from Chinese banks, what happens if I move back home to the USA this summer and never return to China again and completely ignore all debt with the Chinese banks? I realize that I’ll have trouble returning to China but I’m not planning on ever returning (as you know the USA and China’s credit system are completely independent from each other). Thanks.

They will track you down. China might not, HK will as they have a very structured and stable banking system.

into our own house, but dont have many furniture possessions to move. As all our rented places have come fully furnished we only have all the electrical stuff (tv, computer, sound system, etc). We’ve already started buying stuff- we’ve bought a sofa but that will be delivered in 12 weeks ( and we’re moving in 2) we’ve bought chairs for the living room so at least we have SOMEWHERE to sit, we’ve got the fridge, washing, dishwashing, but no beds as of yet and im just thinking- are we wasting our time buying stuff for the kitchen when we dont even have beds? What are we ment to sleep on the first night? And the beds all get delivered so…the first night WILL be spent without a bed lol. not the perfect situation but what can we do to make it easier? Do we sleep in sleeping bags? or blown up mattresses? Any advice will be appreciated . Many thanks.

Think of it as camping…especially if you have little ones. The best advice I have and I have moved many, many times is to pack a starter box. Put in this box everything you need for your first morning…coffee, tea, medication, aspirin, sugar, silverware(1 per person), plate and mug, important snacks, alarm clock, toilet paper etc……
Check out thrift shops garage sales and auctions for great furniture finds…..

I am planning on moving and at the house I am currently living we had paid a $400 dollar pet deposit plus the security deposit of $550. Okay there is some damage to the house but not alot at all. The house is in good condition and the only thing that really needs to be replaced is a window that cracked during the winter. So my question is how do I go about getting some of my deposit back? Do I need to wait until after I move out and they review the house? How does this work?

Thanks.

The procedure for recovering your deposits should be outlined in your lease. It sounds like the landlord will use a portion (if not all) of the pet deposit to cover "cleaning" expenses. If you can do this work, it might reduce this deduction, but I would inform the landlord that you are going to do a very thorough cleaning.
Do you have pictures of the condition of the property when you moved in? If so, dig these up because if there was preexisting damage, you don’t want to be charged for its repair. After the clean-up, take lots of pictures and keep your receipts for any supplies or equipment rental. Also check local laws, in several states, the landlord must also pay the tenant interest on the security deposit.

Hi, I am relocating to a new suburb (15 km apart) next week and got quote from a few removal companies. While they all seem to be on similar hourly charges, I would ask you to rank them from your experience and any recommendation would be appreciated.

Able Removals
AAA City Removalists
Lo Cost Removals
Stack Removals
Fragile Removals & Storage

Thank you kindly!

Hi

I have got quotes for some of the above, but the best one that I have found (and cheaper) is Nick from D&N REMOVALIST.

Good luck with your move!

Cheers

I’m moving across the country. I’ve considered shipping it out to my new home but i’m worried it’s going to break. Any suggestions?

pack it in fragile shipping packaging.. make sure they use lots of layers of styrofoam at the ups/fedex store and mark it fragile.

I am Just about to move house and the Solicitors what to hold on to everyone’s money for a week. I am sure this is a way of making money of interest! Is there a way of claiming this interest made back?

Yes Solicitors are bound to hold your monies in a client account which earns interest and is obliged to pay over to you.

Check out the Law Society’s website for the interest payable on client accounts

If you have any problems you can always contacts the legal complaints services in Leamington spa

And what happens when a moving car hits another moving car in the opposite direction?

Are collisions between 2 cars computer elastic, completely inelastic or a combination of these?
And does the direction of the car’s initial velocity affect the elasticity of the collision?

It’s called an accident

we are moving from england to scotland to be closer to family. jacob is 6 months. we are going to hire a removals company but will have to pack and unpack ourselves due to costs. As I am still regarding managing to hoover or shower as a major triumph I am frankly terrified we will never manage to get it all done! So if anyone has ANY advice I would appreciate it, from how to manage the move to how to keep baby entertained at other end, or what items you consider to be vitally important to have to hand at the other end.
thanks!

i moved house when my baby girl was 3 months old and we did it ourselves. I packed the house when she went down for her sleep, and then we made sure we were super organised!
Pippa travels really well, so, we packed the trailors and car up, fed and changed and set off. Once we got to the other end, the boys unloaded, i fed and changed and by that time, we were back in the car for the next load. I also made sure i packed her nappy bag with everything i needed and had toys and her sippy cup. Singing songs and talking to her seemed to keep her okay on the car.

If it helps i know it did for me, i wrote up schedules on how things were going to happen.
I think it was mostly my anxiety that made it feel so horrible to move. The more organised you are the smoother things will go.

good luck with you move!
